As a valued client of The Moore Law Office, we appreciate the trust you place in us and want to inform you about how we are addressing the coronavirus situation. As the situation continues to develop, our team is ready to continue to support you through this critical time.

We are taking multiple steps to minimize health risks to our clients, staff and community. On March 13, Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court, Cheri Beasley, asked judicial officials to drastically reduce operations in courthouses throughout the state to limit the spread of the coronavirus. She said, “Put simply, it cannot be business as usual for our court system. Non-essential court functions that cannot be accomplished through the use of remote technology must be postponed.”

Judicial officials have directed that in-person meetings be postponed to the fullest extent possible. When cases or hearings cannot be postponed for the next 30 days, remote technologies should be utilized as authorized by law to the fullest extent possible. Our local court system is following the guidelines established by Justice Beasley.

With that in mind, we want you to know that we have effective remote capabilities and encourage clients to use electronic delivery when sending information to us. Our email addresses are: [email protected]; [email protected]; and [email protected]. You can also leave a general message at [email protected]. You may also contact us by phone at our regular office number, 828-258-8053. If no one is available to take your call, you can leave a message and we will return your call as soon as possible. If you would like to schedule a phone conference or consultation with an attorney, we will create a way that will work specifically for you. If you do not have access to an electronic delivery method, please reach out to us and we will work with you. We encourage you to reach out to us with any concerns you might have.

Based on the temporary changes in the court system, we will let you know of any changes to your court schedule. For the health and safety of our clients and staff, we are encouraging our clients not to come into our office. For the next two weeks, beginning March 16, we will be rescheduling face-to-face meetings with conference calls. During this time, our staff is encouraged to telecommute from home.

We are committed to continuing to serve the needs of our clients while following the guidelines established by the state and local court system and maintaining the safety and health of our staff. Please communicate any questions or concerns that you have. Thank you for your understanding as we continue to monitor and adapt to rapidly changing directives from national, state, and local officials.
